My 2003 40hp 2 stroke starts up, but kills as the RPM goes down. It dies when in idle. At high speeds, runs fine.
I cleaned out the fuel filter on the engine.
I replaced the WaterSepartor filter on the gas line.
(The waterSeparator filter did have rust in it.)
I emptied out the Gas Tank and put new gas in it.
I removed the three (3) screws on the Carberutor and drained
out the gas from those.
I did not notice any trash when the three (3) screws were removed.
Reconnected everything but still the same results.
Any suggestions on how to remedy the idle problem.
Is there an Idle adjustment screw on the Engine?
Is there a product that I can put in the Gas to use to clean out
possible dirt in Carburetor.
Is there a way to check to see if the idle jet is clogged?
Thanks for any remedies to try.
