Tilt/Trim electric problem

My 2005 Yamaha 250 4 stroke. The trim/tilt only goes up. When I operate either down button only the relay activates next to the fuse panel but the motor does not move. Any thoughts

Hi, check all the plugs, starting at the motor end of the PP&T system. Unplug each plug examine it, make sure that there is no corrosion on any of the prongs. If this fails to fix the problem, you could disconnect the plug at the relay, take a wire from the neg. of the battery hook it to the black wire going to the PP&T motor, then hook another wire to the pos. side of the battery and touch it to either of the other two wires, one will make the motor go up, the other will make it go down. this will tell you if the motor is working or not. Another thing I just thought of is to check your warentee. I have twin 2004,s and my warentee just expired in March of this year, could be that yours is still in effect, then it becomes the dealears' problem.
