problem with tilt and trim on a 250 4 stroke

theres a little black plastic spring loaded arm that sits just to the side of the tilt assembly on my 07 250 four stroke. i'm pretty sure this gizmo meters how much tilt the motor has and relays this info up to the digital gauge, the indicator bars on the gauge are stuck in the halfway position. does anyone know what this black plastic piece is called so that i can do a search for the part? i have a warranty on the motor but if i can do it myself for little out of pocket expense i would rather go that route rather than haul the boat 60 miles round trip to the dealer. thanks guys

Go to the home page of this web site and pull up the parts list for your motor. They got the prices right on each page. If it's stuck why can't you "help" it along. A little muscle plus PB Blaster, WD40, Etc. If you break it then replace it.
