remote controls

I have had many yamaha bikes but new to the outboards. I bought a like brand new 1980 40hp, mod#40emsh. But I don't have a clue as to what controls I'm looking for. All my Johnsons and Evenrudes always had a big plug. This motor has loose wires like the controls will have loose wires instead of a plug. Does anyone know the model of controls I need or a picture of them?

Is this a USA model? Yamaha didn't start selling outboards in the USA until 1984. The model number is 40EMSH? E is for normally for electric start but M is for manual start.

I sorry about that it is a 1989 made in America. It is electric start so I don't know why it has that "m" in the ID. thanks

If you want a binnacle control box use
704-48205-B1-00 Binnacle control box
704-82570-08-00 Switch panel
6X3-8258A-00-00 16ft 10 pin main harness
If you want a side mount control box then the 703 pull to open, 10 pin control box is not available, you have to get 703-48205-17-10 push to open box and change out throttle arm with part number 703-48261-11-00 pull to open throttle arm.
