  • upper crankcase seal replacement-70tlrp

Iam currently replacing electrical parts on my 70tlrp. Upper crank seal is leaking oil and while I have the stator off I would like to replace the seal. Have a new on in hand and no manual. Was wondering if I can pry out the old one and put in a new one like you would on a snowmachine, or do I have to tear the entire Engine down and split the case? Looks like it would work but I would hate to open a new can of worms when I want to use them for fishing. Any sugestions. Thanks for the wonderful site.

The seal housing is actually the top main bearing so engine would have to disassembled to remove. If you can find a seal driver to install seal over crankshaft should be able to replace it.
