  • 90eltd to F100 repower - guages?

    I have repowered from a early90s 90etld to a late 90's f100

The old setup had an analogue tach with oil level and a second trim gauge.

New motor came with digital speed, temp, time and digital rpm, oil, and trim.
(older models with 4-6-8-12 dial on the back)

I am having great difficulty locating wiring schematics to make the changeover.

I plan to keep the existing 703 control box. Current 10 pin harness seems to work well.

Here is a schematic of what I currently have. It all seems complicated by a remote control unit marked 6H1 Stanley BV015-14170A

    Tack/ Oil Guage

    B to control unit
    G to control unit
    Y to control unit
    B to control unit

    Y to 703
    B to 703
    G to 703

    Trim tilt guage

    B to engine
    Y to engine

    6H1 Module

    y to 703
    B to 703
    P to 703

GR to engine where it connects to pink on rear block sensor (temp?) and oil reservoir
G to engine where it connect to oil reservoir

    GR to Tack red
    G
    Y to tack B

I can only find 2 harnesses on the newer F100 – a square female connector with P B O and G (which is a butt connector) and a square with PB and PW

    Clear as color coded mud?

Ideally I can use the same wire runs and get adapters to go from the existing butt connectors to the new square connectors.

My guess is that the PW/PB harness is oil and the PBO is trim.

    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

You will need to remove the oil module(not used on digital) from control box and install Trim/Oil wire harness(has off white colored square connectors) that came with digital gauges and connect to engine and to tach.

Thanks for your input. Do you have a pn for the harness. The guages are used and came with the used reporer F100.

I am a little concerned now as I have done a little looking on the net and at the library. I may have older 2 stroke digital guages as the tach has the same 3 light system (red yellow green) with the following wires:

      P
      O
      B to ones female conector

      GW
      GR to second connector

      G
      Y
      B as single but connectors.

Will this guage work with F100? Sorry no markings or pn's on the guage except black ink stamp 97T.

If it is compatable what is the selector switch set to 4-6-8-12?

Speedo has speed trip time and fuel across the top with lights for temp battery and fuel across the bottom of the LCD guage.
      See attached photos.

No those gauges don't have the four stroke setting, would need to use
        6Y5-8350T-82-00 TACH
        68F-82553-90-00 TRIM/OIL HARNESS
        6Y5-83553-N0-00 GAUGE HARNESS
Could use the speedo you have just temp light wouldn't work but thye tach will have temp light in it.

          F100 wiring to analog tacho

          Hi Guys,

I have just fitted a F100 4 stroke (older carby model) to replace a 90 2 stroke and I have some questions re the wiring. I have a 703 control installed and I can see how I would get the tach working. But, the new analogue tach for the 4 stroke as two warning lights, one oil pressure and one temp. The old one has three lights for oil level in the tank. I can't see how I can wire the oil and temp warning lights as I cant find a plug in the F100 to connect them to. I think I have found a spare grey wire for trim. The 4 stroke tach has a 4 pin white connector which has only two cables connected, one each for oil and temp. I have a long harness that plugs into that tach plug, but can't for the life of me see whare I would connect it to the motor.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

          Gus.
