The first year I got this motor it ran great, then lent it to a friend and last year starting it up it ran like crap. I waited to it got warm to rebuild the carb. I just rebuilt the carburetor, cleaned it thoroughly, new gas and cannot get it to idle long enough to warm up and adjust idle mixture or rpm. The carb kit I used did not include the pump membrame 28,30,31 or reed valves. Is ther supposed to be a spring on the needle valve? This is my first time rebuilding an outboard so take it easy on me!

Probably still have plugged passages or low speed jets in carb. No there isn't a spring on float valve.

I took the carb apart blew out all the passages with carb cleaner. I did not change the pump gaskets (I plan to) #'s 31,30,28, You say something about the jets. Should I change these they are the original.
It will start, run fairly ok, then die like it is running out of gas. I also took the filter apart and cleaned that out also
ANy suggestions????
