1995 yamaha 50/35 jet

starts and idles fine but when you push down the throttle it wont run over 2000 rpms, anybody have any ideas what could be wrong.

Check the warning buzzer is working, if overheats or oil level is low it will activate warning and will reduce to 2000 rpm's. Disconnect pink and black wire temp sensor on cylinder head on touch wires togather, turn ignition switch on and buzzer should sound.
