  • Installing propeller - thrust washer

I am trying to re-install the original propeller on my 2000 HPDI V-Max 200hp outboard Yamaha. According to the owner's manual LIT-18626-04-59 (page 4-20) the thrust washer should be installed first. However, when I do this the propeller is not far enough down the shaft to work correctly. Are these instructions correct for all propellars? This propellar is labelled 21-M, and was the original prop when I purchased my boat (a Triton SF-21). Any suggestions?

The thrust washer has to go before prop. You can go onto the Online Parts Catalog and see the break down of how it goes. If it had a different prop (Mercury hubbed) then the washer were changed, make sure it is Yamaha washers.
