  • Replacing Pressure Control Valve 200 HPDI

I am wanting to replace the Pressure Control Valve to cure an overheating problem. Has anyone replaced this valve on a 200 HPDI without significant dissassembly? My boat is in the water and I don't see that it is possible to replace the valve and install the spring due to lack of space and due to being in the water. It is a twin rig so I can only get access to the right hand side. Any advice or tips would be really appreciated.

It's extremely hard to hanging off back of boat but can be done if trim engine up all the way with a 10mm socket on a universal and a few band-aids.

      Thanks

I should have listened to your advice. Got into trouble with marina authority for discharging blood into the water and also for swearing After ruining two gaskets I called the good folk at Rayglass Boats. They had it sorted in no time.

Ok, after the bleeding, swearing and repair bill did it fix the motor?

          Solved

The motor is running fine but it did overheat on the technician after replacing the Pressure Control Valve (at 57 mph). He believes there was a partial blockage somewhere in the cooling system because when he was flushing it back at the shop all of a suuden the tell tale started flowing a lot more water. I think there were two problems causing the gradual overheating. Certainly not getting steam out of the exhaust ports like befor the valve was changed. Thanks.
