new boat

i just puchased a 2006 17 ft express bass boat with a 2006 90 yamaha. The third time i took it out it would not start. Turned the key and it did not even try to turn over. After taking the remote apart and putting it back together something made a connection and it fired off. Did it again later that day and i wiggled the throttle and it started working. Found no loose connections. What could be causing this? Also how fast should this boat run?

Sounds like the neutral safety switch in control box may be out of alignment or bad.

that makes sense. ill change it out and hopefully that will fix the problem. Not good when your boat acts up 40 miles from the boat ramp.
