Hello, I've had the outboard for 3 months and it has run great, not too sure of the previous maintenance history but it has run great so far and I changed all plugs, oil, and fuel filters imediatley upon purchase. I've been trying to educate myself here on the board before being at the mercy of the repair shop. I noticed that my outboard wasn't running smoothly the last time I brought it home and was flushing it out. It was making a "pft" sound every 20 seconds or so and was shaking more than normal. I read another thread about the same outboard that mentioned "spit and shake" and that sounds like the issue I'm dealing with. I was thinking of the following options and was hoping for some guidance:
A) Add carb cleaner to fuel (cheap)
B) Buy new coil pack and swap out one at a time to isolate bad one ($75)
C) Buy Morgan Carb Tune II to sync carbs ($100)
D) Check compression for possible water intrusion to cylinder ()
E) Take her in for repairs
Thanks in advance for your assistance and for making this board such a great resource!
