1985 Precision Blend over oiling

I have a 150hp precision blend 1985 model. Oil pump constantly runs when the key is on. The pump is in the tank in the boat and then there is a tank on the motor its self. I took out the float valve in the tank on the motor and it seemed to work fine. The float valve in the tank in the boat has continuity also the book i have doesnt go into enough detail on ohms and diagrams any help out there?? thanks

Replace the oil level sensor in engine oil tank and oil control module below oil tank.
