Last year, my second trip out with my 1998 Yamaha 70 horse, I was on plane running when I had an Low Oil Light and Alarm sound. I shut it down right away, let it sit for 10 minutes and tried to re-start. Once I waited, and tried to re-start, no alarm or light. I proceded to get up on plane, and in about 5 minutes received an Overheat Light and Alarm. I again shut it down, waited for 10 minutes and tried to re-start. It started with no alarms, I went back in, about 3 miles full speed, no alarm. I ran it at home on the ears for 20 to 25minutes later and could not duplicate the alarm. I chalked it up to a false alarm as the oil bottle was full, peeing a stream, and you could place your hand on the sides of the cylinders. The next time out, I ran out for maybe 2 miles, and the Overheat Light and Alarm came on, shut it down for 10 minutes, restarted with no issues. It happens intermitently, but appears to be running normal. What is everyones take?
