Oil pressure light- on or off?

Hello out there- I just got a 2005 T9.9EXH2D. The online Yam owners manual says light should be on if oil pressure is ok. My light is off- checked press switch and it has continuity below 2 lbs., no continuity above 2 lbs. So light is off if ok and on if under 2 lbs? Thanks for your help.

The red light should be off when engine running.
