I have a 1992 P50tlrq that constantly spits a lot of water out from the exhaust relief hole when the motor is cold or warm. I do see a dark exhaust stain left behind on the exhaust relief hole area after a day on the water. The water is warm to the touch with a scent of oil/exhaust smoke. The propeller has a dark exhaust stain as well. The motor emits a strong exhaust odor all the time when its running the motor.
I've read some of the other post on this forum about a Pressure Relief Valve that may be stuck open with minerals or the like. Where is that located on my motor?
I recently changed out the thermostat, head gasket, new fuel pump assembly, auto choke gasket and diaphragm, and all oil hoses. The water pump and impeller has about 40 hours of use and was installed less then a year ago. All carbs were serviced and reeds replaced by a certified Yami mechanic about a year and a half ago. The telltale pushes water out with high amounts of pressure. I've used ring free, SeaFoam and Startron enzyme fuel treatment religiously. Spark plugs show an oily appearance with moderate carbon caked on the thread ends.
Other then the very heavy exhaust odor and constant water spitting out of the relief hole, the motor runs good. Every so often, I see white smoke billowing from the same relief hole as well. Is this normal?
