  • Running A New Wire Thru The Rigging Tube

I want to run a new wire thru the rigging tube, need advice for the best way.
    Do I
    1. Take off upper cowling
    2. Remove screw from rigging tube hold down (bar, clamp,?)
    3. Cut tie rap from tube ( is this a special tie I need to get from my dealer?)
    4. Unscrew rigging tube bracket from stern off hull
    5. Pull wire and then reassemble?
Am I on the right track.
If you have done this, any help would be appreciated before I begin.
    Thank You, Jim

Yes that is basically it, you can use any tie strap on rigging hose.

its not a really fun job but electricians lube will make it easier. wd40 will work but some will say it isnt good around wires.you might want to pull, for ex, a harness BACK out with a pull string tied to it and use that string to pull BOTH back thru.

HI, You would be MUCH better off to use a dishwashing soap, such as Dawn, it is much more slippery than WD, and will not have any effect on the wires. I would strongly reccomend aginst using wd. Wd gets all sticky and gooy after time, NG. If you realy want to use what we use on the job to lube the wires, go to Hone Depot electrical dept. and but a small bottle of whatever wire lube they sell, but dishwashing soap will do the job, and it is more cost effective
