i am getting a warning buzzer. i recently replaced the water pump. inspected after experiencing buzzer, seems to be installed correctly. thermostat was corroded and will be replaced. however, with the thermostat housing cover removed, should i get a stream of water from the housing when i turn the motor on briefly if the pump is working correctly. could there posssibly be an obstruction in the cooling sytem. advice on how to troubleshoot would be appreciated. especially the makeup of cooling system. my shop manual does not explain how the cooling system is constructed. i do have a port on the lower unit starboard side labeled wash. is this a flush port? i use a 2 sided water muff now. appreciate any help!

Make sure you are running in water and not on a flush attachment(can't check water pump on flush). Water should come out thermostat hole but does take a minute for water to get to top of block.
