  • 2006 Yamaha 90TLR Trim/MF Guage Wiring

    I am installing a multi-function tachometer on a 2006 90TLR.

    The kit is 6YR-W0035-15.
    This includes
    6Y5-83500-T2 - Tach
6Y5-83553-00 - Tach to remote harness
    64D-82553-70 - Oil/Trim harness to engine

The engine has one square plug with green, green/red, pink, and gray wires. The harness I have has 2 square plugs. One side has 2 pins green, green/red. The other side has 4 pins pink, black, gray, and orange.

Right now, with the remote box and the green and green/red wire on the engine harness connected, I have RPM registering, oil registering full, trim all the way at 5 with the top bar flashing. It appears that everything reads correctly except trim, which I believe are sent from a pink and gray wire on my engine.

From searching the internet, I believe I need another harness from the engine to the gauge. Do you know the part number, or is there a way to get this one to work?

Thanks for all the information on the site, it is very helpful.

Thats an old rig kit, if the tach doesn't have 3 dip switches in back of gauge then the trim gauge wont work. You will need an adapter harness, part number 6Y5-85335-00-00 and install it at gauge. Connect the connector at engine and tape other lead off not is being used. Set 3 dip switches to up, down, down.

I had set the dip switches as you described, and according to the documentation that came with the multifunction gauge. I will check on that adapter.

      Thanks for your assistance!
