I own a 26' striper WA with twin 1998 S150 two stroke. I recently replaced all four control cables with Teleflex red jacket because the old ones were too hard to move causing problems shifting into neutral in both engines. The new cables worked fine for some time but now the left side engine (longer cables (24ft)) is very hard to accelerate and shift into gear. I followed the same routing as the original cables. A couple of questions, 1. What is the best brand of cables with less friction and with the smallest possible bend radio? 2. Are there any tricks to follow when installing new cables?. 3. I checked the shift lever in the engines and in order to shift into gear sometimes I have to rotate manually the propellers, is this normal? 4. I have verified and lubricated the control levers (704) and released all the tension in the friction adjusters, also I have disconnected the cables from the engine and cycled the levers and they move smoothly, any ideas?
