  • 6Y5-83553-N0-00 gauge harness

I have the Yamaha harness: 6Y5-83553-N0-00 gauge harness to use with my 2008 50 HP Yamaha 2-Stroke between the motor and my Teleflex guages.

    1. Where does the harness plug into the motor? Is there one spot or do you have to crimp-in at differnet locations depending on what source you are after?

    2. What color wire on the engine should I source for engine RPM ? (Where is it best to pick this up?)

    3. What color wire on the engine should I source to let the ignition power the Teleflex guages internal lights ? (Where is it best to pick this up?)

    4. I will check the instructions that came with the gauges also, but can you tell me if power for them comes from my fuse block or wether it is more typical to obtain power for them via the outboard engine...if so; what color wire should be sourced, and; in what location ?

    Thanks!

        Well...location solved; now color?

Thanks for the information on the location to plug into on the motor.

Can you also answer my questions on what color wire goes with which function?

        Thanks in advance.

          Yellow 12 volts key on
          Green tach signal
          Black ground
Blue back light in gauge, would need to be connected to navigation light switch or to yellow wire(gauge light to come with key on)

              "at the key switch"

I have a optional yamaha tiller installed with the key switch on the tiller....do I need to get inside this unit to find the wires you are describing?

May have to remove bottom of handle to get to wires.
