I'll try to keep this short as possible. Two events happened yesterday. First I ran aground on a MUD bar at WOT. Sucked in a lot of mud, had high RPM probably over 6,000 for a few seconds. Got off, used *****ing motor a few hours. Time to leave, engine started fine, idled out of lagoon for around 30 min. everything was fine, water pump pumping clean water. Went to jump up on plane, everything went as normal, as soon as I trimed up to 5,500 RPM the engine cut back. Now at full throttle it runs a little rough and only gets 2,200 RPM. Had to idle back to ramp (hour) tried several times shutting engine off and on, no change. It's a 70 HP (TLRD). I don't know if the mut bar had an effect. It did not over heat, there was no engine alarm.

If the overheat alarm activates it will go into safe mode and rpm's will reduce to abot 2000 rpm's. Test the buzzer, disconnect wires to temp sensor on top of head and touch pink wire to black wire with key on buzzer should sound.Last edited by boats.net; 03-02-2009, 10:24 AM.

Understand, I am not at the boat right now to test. If it did overheat and the horn did not sound how do I return from "Safe" mode to normal?
I forgot to mention the motors Manufacture Date is 08-04. One other thing I discovered is with the water hose and "muffs" conected and it's in neutral it accelerates normally.
Thanks for your help.

It will go to normal when engine cools down, when put put control in neutral it will reset.
