I have two 1986 Yamaha 115 HP motors with oil injection. One has a bad power head. I was going to replace the power head this spring but I have run across a 1993 130 HP complete motor with oil injection in top notch condition.
My question is will the electrical connection be different. Will the prop off my motor fit the 93 and any other issues I could have if I decide to go this route.

If you change out complete 130hp engine with carbs and electrical componets it would work on the 115 mid section, the gear ratio was different on two engines and may have to change prop.

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping to change complete engine if the harness is the same. How much difference is gear ratio. My boat is 24ft and the props are 19 stainless. As you can tell boat and motors have a lot of age, however the powerhead on the other engine has been rebuilt. I don't intend to go offshore anymore in it but do like to use inside for beach and shrimping.
