ECU programming

Is the ECU for a Yamaha F50 the same as a F60? I am talking 2007 models here 4 stroke. Seems everything else is the same on these models

They do have different ECU's.

Thanks, I am hearing that if the restrictor plate is removed from the intake on the 50hp motor that the ECU will recognize it is getting more air and increase the amount of fuel to the injectors and there by increase the horsepower to near 60hp. What say you?

As a Certified Yamaha Mechanic.I was told if we messed we any thing that would change EPA Specs we would get our certs ****ed and fined so as a practice we dont mess with newer stuff now older stuff is a little different hope that helps

But this sounds plausible to you? It should not screw up anything besides emissions right?
