Saltwater series

I had an older 175 yamaha that had a steel steering arm that rusted through, my question is I'd like to buy a 2000 saltwater seriesII...and was wondering if they have corrected that problem.

Yes it will have stainless steel tilt tube but you will still need to keep it greased.

it sounds like you guys are talking about 2 different things. the original post is about the steering arm, and the reply is a bout the ss tilt tube.
