1993 yamaha outboard c115tlrr v4 115

I am getting a weak spark.I was told by the mechanic that the powerpack need to be replaced.I was wondering are their any test I can run to make sure thats what it is?The rpm gauge shoot over to 7,000 when key is turn to start it and my fuel gauge just stopped working after bring it home and trying to figure out what was wrong with it.I know its getting fuel plugs are wet he said its getting a weak spark.Is their a way to jump start it to help eliminate anything?

jumper cable directly to your starter to isolate starter and system. How do you do this?Do you just hook a power and ground up to the starter?

Jump start wont help with a weak spark problem. Need to have ignition system tested with a peak reading voltmeter.

I am told its the cdi not really sure on that.

Where to buy a cdi?

did the mechanic test the cdi or just tell you he THINKS it is bad ?? it is an expensive part to guess on...

He said he tested it and it was bad.

were to get a used good cdi?
