Yamaha 250 Ticking Sound?

My 93 250 has a ticking sound coming from the top of the motor towards the front. I pulled the plugs and turnd the motor by hand and can't hear anything. It sound almost like a lifter on a 4 stroke. Any ideas?

I'm thinking maybe wrist pin. What does that sound like?

Also idles at 800-900 with the screw backed all the way out. Winky blinky coming today.

its a carbed motor and the problem was a broken zip tie on the stator.
