94 yamaha 130 starter problems

When I go to start, the starter just spins and does not engage the flywheel. Any suggestions?

Could be a bad battery, bad or corrorred battery cables or connections or a bad starter.

Thanks! I'll start at the cheapest fix and work my way up.

feel your cable ends after a dozen turns or so...if warm cut off 6" and resplice or replace.
