The ignition switch on my boat is approximately 8 years old and has given me some problems recently. Sometimes when starting, especially in cold weather, there is no response when turning the key and I have to jiggle the key or try to push it in. Once it starts and warms up, the problem seems to dissipate. I have sprayed contact cleaner into the switch, which has seemed to help, however I am wondering if I can remove the switch and clean it, or is it time to replace it? Also, the rubber boot that covers the switch has begun to fall apart - can this be purchased seperately?
Thanks for your responses and Happy Holidays to all!!!
