Water Temperature Meter Wirring

Greeting All,

I just received a water temperature meter and the sending unit but the enclosed instructions were for a water pressure unit !?!? so I am at a loss.
There are two wires coming out of the temp sending unit one light blue and one black. The temp. meter has five, two black, one yellow, one dark blue, and one light blue. The only hint I have is the black and dark blue are coming from one end while the others are coming from the other.
I tried to boil water to check if anything would register, no success.
I would appreciate if anyone has a wirring diagram, or any other tips that may help.

You will need a gauge harness 6Y5-83553-N0-00 to power up gauge. Connect gauge harness green, yellow, red and black wire to key switch, connect yellow and black wire of temp gauge to gauge harness. Install temp sender in engine and connect blue and black wire to gauge.
