Testing Temp> Light

I have a 115 4 stroke the two wires to the temp.switch , black- ground and black with yellow -to ECU how do you test to see if the light and buzzer goes off. yamaha tack with lights i grounded the oil presure as it was running it worked ok turned on the light and buzzed

It's not easily done, you have to make up a test lead with 220 ohm resistor to go between sensor wires and can be up to 60 second delay before buzzer sounds. Take it to your dealer they have the tester to test it for you.
