1991 Yamaha 250 Carbs On 1993 Motor?

I broke my 91 Yamaha 250 and picked up a used 93 250. I was going to put my 91 carbs on it and noticed that the 93's have an extra nozzle on the inlet side of each carb and an extra hose on the outside.

Why did Yam add these and will my 91's work?

They changed carbs to improve fuel economy on that engine, although I never tried swapping carbs but the 91 carbs would probably work.
