T-8 trim&tilt

2003 t-8 trim not working, motor works but will not lift or hold in up position.

Check the fluid level.

fluid ok,motor tries to lift but will not, you hold doen button and lift manually to get it up .

May be the trim motor is dragging or it could be a hydraulic problem.

Yamaha T8 Tilt motor oil type

Hi All

I recently had my T8 tilt motor on my 2006 Yamaha 9.9 HP seize up from sitting too long. High gas prices and all I couldn't get out to fish for a couple of months. I have been able to get the cylinder shaft to free up but in the process I spilled some of the oil from inside the tilt motor and I don't see anything that tells me what to replace it with.

I'm talking about the little electric drive motor that allows remote tilt of the 9.9 HP.

Can anyone tell me the type and weight of the oil that should be used to replace the spilled oil?
Please help get me back out on the water.
