'92 l250txrq water pump issue

just pulled the lower unit off to replace waterpump and impellor as motor was no longer peeing(checked with muffs and submerged) impellor seemed fine but replaced housing,impellor,gaskets.orings etc anyway to be on the safe side. tested thermostats all ok. replaced leg and still not peeing and no water even reaching thermostats. when replacing the impellor (looking down driveshaft) we had the impellor fins facing counter clockwise. anything obvious we may have missed with this that would still cause the issue. the L series is a counter rotation if that could effect it.

any ideas appreciated

was the old impeller intact ?

you may have some debris in water tube.

are you sure you got the orings back in place when reassembling...they can be tricky.

what happens when you run on muffs ???

I am confident we got the o rings on. It was tricky. We blew out all the lines from bottom to top and top to bottom. When we hook the muffs up water moves into the foot. The impellor was intact and the motor was peeing, not very srtrong, then one day it stopped.

but what happens when you RUN the motor on muffs....does it overheat/buzz?

just because it isnt peeing doesnt mean the water isnt flowing.

and youre sure you installed housing into watertube correctly ?

We got it working. Took it apart and put it back together and got water moving. Thanks for your help. Next up is the gauges and found that the speedassymbly is no longer manufactured. Any ideas on where to find one?
