  • 89 pro50 trim problem

When trailering the boat I ran into the back of another truck causing the boat to slide forward and with the transom saver on caused the motor to be forced up and pull on the tilt cylinder. Now the motor will not trim all the way down. It will go down touch the trim cylinders keep going down but then stops about a 1/2" away, but the trim cylinders retract all the way , but the tilt cylinder is holding the motor up and feels a little spunggy. If I work the trim and tilt back and forth a couple of time it will eventually go all the way down. or if I reless the bypass it will go all the way down. I seems like the timing is off or is there air in the system.

There may be air between free piston and piston in tilt cylinder, it should work it's way out but if not then tilt cylinder would have to disassembled.

It allows motor to tilt if motor hits something.
