yamaha multifunction tach switchover

i have a 1993 yamaha with a digital multifunctional tach which has to be replaced. i would like to install the newer yamaha tach designed for engines after 1994. the wiring harness is different . is this possable and if so is there a wiring harness adapter made for this?????Thanks in advance..

What model motor do you have?

sorry;; it is a 1993 yamaha 225 txrr. there are two connectors on each tach with the 1993 tach( 0ld) having round and the newer one square. thanks....
