2001 115 4 Stroke - occasional low oil warning
Having a mystery and hoping to find an answer - my low oil warning alarm and indicator comes on occasionally. I have turned off the engine and checked the oil and the level is fine according to the dipstick...
This usually happens after slowing down to idle after running between 5000-5500..If I shut the engine off immediately upon hearing the alarm and turn it back on - no further alarms problems...
The mechanic in my marina is a great guy but just a short time past his basic Yamaha technician certification so does not have a great wealth of experience under his belt....and will spend 2 - 6 hours trying to replicate a problem..at $70 per hour, building that kind of empirical experience is expensive on my part......
