We normally do PCV and thermostas when service water pump. We don't see much trouble from PCV on F200-F225 as we do with 2 stroke models.

            re: f225 pressure control valve

cleaning 'em out sounds alot less expensive than replacing. i'll go there first, for sure. cant believe how much i'm spending this year winterizing these pups. thanx for the info

              re: f225 winterize

hey , i'm from bayville, nj. this is third year on these engines, so i'm doing water pumps, stats, pcv, if nec. and the usual oil and fuel filters, water seps, spark plugs, lower unit lube, etc. i've been doing all the maintenence myself but this is my first try at water pumps for these engines. the pumps on my old evinrude loopers weren't too bad, so i'm hoping these will be easier. any easy way to make sure there is no salt build-up?? they are flushed regularly, but used solely in salt water. thanx for the reply

                re:f225 cooling system

got a weak stream from the motors and o/heat buzzers after 15-20 minutes at idle speed. 160hrs on engines so i'm thinking i'm about due for cooling system maintenence and hopefully cure weak pressure problem. unless, of course, the pressure valve cleaning solves the problem. in that case the pumps will wait till next year. am i thinking correctly here??? thanx,

                  PRV cleaning

does this prv come apart for cleaning, or just needs a good BJ. no obvious sand, grit or grass visible, and spring tension seems ok. thanks
