yamaha 4 stroke 50hp high thrust

i am new to the site so thanks in advance for everyones help
i have a 2005 50hp high thrust tiller and would like to know if the new tiller handle with the buttons to slow the rev down for *****ing will work on this engine. and if so what is the part number and would i have to replace any other parts or is the tiller kit all inclusive.

If the model number of your motor is T50TLRD then the switch will work. The VTS switch is optional part and does not come in tiller handle kit. The kit is number 1 on this diagram http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Ya...RTS/parts.html

thanks but my motor has the new style handle with the key on the driver side and kill switch on the top.
also do you need the other parts listed or does it just plug in.

i pulled the paper work and it says 2005 model T50TLRD serial number
6C2L-1001492 but the tiller handle looks like the new handles.

can i add a switch to this handle? would the same switch that works on the new ones work on this one.

That switch should mount to your handle and it will plg into your harness.
