  • Trim gauge for '06 f150

I bought a Telefex trim gauge and then a yamaha wire harness for my '08 Alumacraft Dominator w/ an '06 F150. I'm looking to install the gauge and was told to clip the gauge end of the harness off and connect the pink to the sender (S) on the gauge. I then tapped into the ground(black), Lights(Blue), Ignition (purple) under the console and hooked those up. I hooked the motor end of the harness to the matching connector in the motor that has 4 pink wires coming into it. Is that the right connector in the motor?

What do I do with the orange, grey and black wires left in the harness on the gauge end? I tried it with them just capped and the gauge goes to down (which the motor was) when I turn the key for about 5 seconds and then goes back to up even though the motor is down.

The connector on engine should be a off white(matches color of gauge harness) 4 prong connector.

I think I have the motor end figured out. I did hook the like colored connector (off white with 4 pink wires coming into it) on the motor to the harness.

On the gauge end I then have an orange, grey and black left. I connected the pink to the S on the gauge but don't know what the other 3 are for or if they are even used. I assume black is the ground but don't know if I should use that one or the ground that runs to the other gauges at the console.
