  • 1994 115TLRS Rigging Help

Hi all, hoping to get a little help with rigging up a used engine I purchased for my sled.

1 - I'm using a 704 control box with teleflex cables. I purchased the teleflex cable ends and the cable was 1/2 inch short when in the engine cable clamp. Can't adjust any further with the cable jam nut. The teleflex connector is 1 inch long. Is the yamaha cable connector for this engine longer 6E5-48344 (say 1 1/2 inches)?

2 - I purchased the yamaha battery cable. It's not clear which terminals they connect to on the outboard.

3 - The fuel line is not included up to the fuel filter. Can I use any 3/8 inch fuel line? Do I need to include a primer bulb between the water seperator and the outboard?

    Thanks for any help!

You will have to use the Yamaha cable ends on control cables.
The battery lug with small hole goes on engine.
The fuel line is 5/16 at engine filter and yes it will need a primer bulb install in fuel line.

Thanks Boats.net. Your the best! I REALLY appreciate the reply. The yamaha cable end fit perfectly on the outboard. I must have taken the 704 box appart 5-6 times and wasted two days trying to diagnose the problem.

One final question regarding the battery cable. On the Port side of the engine appear to be three large relays to where the power cable will connect. Which relay does the battery cable connect to and to which lug on the relay. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow if this isn't clear.

      Best regards,
      John

Connect positive cable to bottom relay.
