tach wiring for 1994 70 hp yamaha

I tried to read all the input i can on wiring a tack to my 1994 70 hp , i have the tach but still need the location on the motor as where the cable ends plug into without pulling every cover . I dont see any loose plugs at all. Any help would be great. tack no is 6y5-8350t-82-00, cable is 68f-82553

Do you have a Yamaha remote control? If so, there should come 3 wires out that mates with the same colors on the tach, black = ground, yellow = +12V, green = pulse.
Also check that the tach is set on 6 pulse, is it an analog or digital tach?

A 1994 motor should have the 2 square connectors on engine to match the 68F harness(unless it's a non oil injection model), if it doesn't it may be a 1993 or older model and those harness are no longer available.
