2005 150 4 stroke Info?

I need a little info on this motor. A friend of mine just bought one from a government auction. it has close to 900 hrs on it, but most are in the low RPM range. It runs good, I'm just looking for a little information on it.

What RPM range is it supposed to run in at wide open?

It idles really low, and it dies when you come off plane and put it in neutral, does a dealer have to adjust this?

If it idles too long, the overheat buzzer will go off. Could this be because it idles too low? He just had the water pump changed.

Are there any common problems with these motors? Especially when they have this many hours on them.

Should you run ringfree in the 4 strokes?

The operating range is 5000-6000 rpm's. should idle at 700 rpm's in neutral.
