  • While your boad is docked at the marina....

We keep our boat in a freshwater lake at a marina. When leaving the boat for a week between use, is it best to tilt the motor & drive out of the water or just leave it down? Would this cause excess unnecessary wear on the trim pump & related components? Just askin...

What do the rest of you folks do?

Thanks. Great wealth of info in this forum.

I live on a fresh water lake. Boat stays in the water all summer.

Water is extremely vicious and attack everything it touches.

I raise my motor, engage the flip fown lever, then lower it down. This takes the presure off of the hydraulic tilt/trim system.

Folks around her in the winter leave their motors down so water won't freeze in the hub and crack the lower case.
