1994 250 yam power trim pump

The power trip pump is broken I by passes the relay and still nothin. How hard is it to fix and can I do it in the water? And what part usually has to be replaced? It looks like it would be the armature assy. or does the stator assy also have to be replaced or the gear pump assy? I know I will have to pull it off and see but usually goes. When I tap on the motor i will move a little but has a high pitched winding noise.

It probably needs a new power trim motor and the boat would need to be out of water to replace.
