  • Boat doesnt steer enough to the right or left

    I have a 1988 90HP Yamaha Outboard on a 15ft bow rider,
and it seems like the the steering on my boat is screwed up some how.

It has always been like this, originally I had a 50HP Johnson, and the steering seemed crappy back then too....

I'm wondering if all of the steering rods that go through the steering/tilt tube are the same length/size? Would a longer one fix the problem?

What is the best way to make this thing turn properly? It can be a real pain to park sometimes.

    Does this pic look right?

It looks like the steering link arm(connecting cable to motor) is connected in wrong hole on motor steering arm, it should be mounted in rear hole of arm.

Thanks!! You were exactly right.. I got the message a little late..but realized that on the last day of my boat being in the water for the season...

Any idea what the other hole is there for?

It's for dual engines, connecting dual engine tie bar.
