  • 2002 130HP Reduced RPMS

    Hi everyone,

My situation is, this past weekend I was merrily cruising along pulling my kids on kneeboards, wakeboards... I shut down for 1/2 hour or so, when I began my journey home, without warning, I couldn't get over 3300 rpm or around 23 mph (normal is around 5200 or 40 mph). It all happened without warning. I haven't had the boat in the water since, so I was hoping for a few things to check for when I'm at the lake again. Things I know: No warning chimes from digital gauges, lots of fuel, water pump operating, started and idled ok, prop good.

As always your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Check for water in fuel or fouled spark plugs.

Will do, spark plugs were replaced last fall, what do I look for in the fuel (sorry, I'm pretty much a mechanical idiot)?

The battery connections were a little loose, could that cause the issue?

      Thanks again.
