Ok, I have a 1989 Yamaha 15HP. It's hard to start and when I do get it started it will idle at high rpms but when I cut it down to low idle it dies. I cleaned the carb out very good and changed all the gaskets even the gaskets and diaphragms in the fuel pump. all my fuel hoses are tight, fresh gas. changed the plugs and set to correct gap. I have good compression, and spark at the plug. When I hook up a ohm meter to test the White/Red Pulsar Lead on the CDI there is no continuity and there is supposed to be according to the manual. Also, same thing with the Orange Ignition Lead. All the other tests are in the correct range. Could CDI problems cause it to die at low idle?
