My 1996 150 lower unit tab-trim bolt turns, but the Tab-trim holds on tight.
I can knock the tab-trim side to side with a hammer, but it's not about to come off. A screwdriver wedged in underneath does not loosen it.
The bolt seems to neither tighten up or loosen up when turned (a lot). It does squeak when turning, as if striped or broken.
The new tab-trim part has only a single threaded hole for the bolt. I don't know why the old one doesn't just fall off when hammered.
The bolt I'm turning is 11mm, recessed about 7" down inside the lower unit (a rubber plug gains access to the bolt). My magnet wand will not pull out the bolt when loosened a lot.
Any Ideas are greatly appreciated!
