Bought a new 90 4 stroke and have a ?

I just bought a 90 4 stroke. The first couple of trips were great, one turn of the key and engine ran. Now, Im on my fourth trip out and go to start it and it starts for a second and shuts down. The very next turn over it runs with no problem. Being new should it be shuting down? Has anyone else had this happen?

Is the engine brand new? Bottom line is that if it's a new fuel-injected motor, it should basically never stall out, cold or hot. So if that's the case, and the problem continues, take it back where you bought it and ask them to fix it.

If it is an older, carburated engine, you probably don't need to worry about an occasional stall when cold - just keep it on high idle for a bit longer to warm it up.
